A child protection conference is held after a Section 47 enquiry concludes that a child/ren (including an unborn child) is suffering from, or likely to suffer, significant harm. The purpose of a child protection conference is to share information between all the professionals who are working with the family, decide how to keep the child/ren safe and decide if a child protection plan should be drawn up for each child. A review child protection conference assesses the effectiveness of the child protection plan and whether the agreed outcomes for the child/ren are being met.
