A group of people close to a child made up of relatives and non-related connected people (where connected people has the same definition used in the Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010 in addition to close family friends who have a connection with the child). A family network can include the child’s parents (or any other person with parental responsibility), relatives, family friends, Godparents or other members of a child’s community, for example neighbours, teachers and youth workers.
